Sestri Levante is a small town in the Italian region of Liguria. Sestri Levante is situated between Chiavari and Levanto in Tigullio Gulf and belongs to the Riviera de Levante. The old part of the city is located on an upstream peninsula. Here tourists can easily find private accommodation, which is provided by the locals. If living with the local people will not satisfy the tourists they are always welcomed in the beautiful holiday homes outside the town. One of the most beautiful offers is the Monte Castello near the town which is located at level of 285 meters above the sea and offers an magnificent view of the city and the environment.
The main sight of Sestri Levante is the old ensemble of the peninsula called Portobello with the Palazzo Negrotto Cambiaso. The tourists are always advised to stay here for some time and to enjoy the Old Town and Palazzo. It is quite a shock when running through the crooked lanes and turning round the corner tourists suddenly get impressed by the fantastic view of the great Palazzo. There is offered a cup of espresso with a cake. Sestri Levante is also used as a popular base among the hikers because there is a train leading directly to the Cinque Terre. Here the lovers of peaceful walking can go sightseeing of some of the magical villages. Strenuous, but enormously impressive, the hiking trails lie high above the coast with a wide view of the Mediterranean. The tourists are also able to set out for a very romantic walk on the peninsula of Portofino to the west of Sestri Levante. It is interesting as a mundane port is also recommended to visit.
Sestri Levante is also the starting point of the beautiful path to the Punta Manara. This way is very beautiful because of the interesting vegetation. There tourists can enjoy the magnificent view of the Riviera. Tourists who once visited Sestri Levante want to go back here again and again.
