Vado Ligure with its population of around 8,500 is located in the Italian province of Savona. It is not only a significant industrial town but also a lively port city in the region of Liguria. The patron saint of the village between Savona and Torre del Mare is John the Baptist. Because of its location on the sea Vado Ligure is not a simple point on the map, but also a popular tourist destination the main attraction of which is in its unique position on the Gulf of Genoa. A holiday in Vado Ligure also offers the possibility of visiting the nearby Savona and its famous art gallery in the Palazzo Pozzobonello or the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta. Daily trips to the provincial capital, the city of Genoa, are offered from here, too, so you will have a wonderful possibility to see one of the largest old towns in Europe. Just like other port cities Vado Ligure also offers ferry trips even to Bastia in Corsica.

Vado Ligure is also a popular seaside resort which promises a lot of recreation. One can find himself in the activities on the beach or just stroll through the small town in which many pizzerias like "La Conchiglia" offer wonderful Italian pizza. Or you can spend your holiday simply resting in the café "Il Bucaniere & C." in the Via Aurelia. You can also rent a holiday apartment in Vado Ligure in the apartment house "La Affittacamere Caletta". It offers wonderful views of the Gulf of Genoa. Or you can also stay at "Cicciun" hotel. It impresses visitors with its proximity to the sea. A double room here costs between 40 and 60 euros, credit cards are also accepted.

Camping is also particularly recommended in the region. A four-star Best Western Hotel Acqua Novella offers a more upscale lodging and equipment. Besides it is situated only 7 kilometers away from the centre of Vado Ligure.
