Italy consists of beautiful regions that attract thousands of tourists from all over the world. One of them is the coastal part of Liguria in the north-west of the country with its wonderful sights. The Ligurian countryside with its olive groves and green vineyards offers a relaxing unforgettable holiday in such provinces of Liguria as Genoa, La Spezia, Savona and Imperia. The romantic landscape along the azure sea is, certainly, the biggest attraction of Liguria. The coast together with its nice bays and small fishing villages has the length of more than 300 km. You may stay at one place (the Riviera di Ponente or the Riviera di Levante, for example) and travel along the coast. In the first place is the Riviera Fiori that stretches from Ventimiglia Cerco. Then goes the Palm Riviera, or Riviera delle Palme that stretches up to Savona. Behind these names there are fascinating places that are worth visiting. The nature offers picturesque landscape such as Cinque Terre and interesting cities, historic buildings, marvelous parks and green places.
The most well-known cities are Alassio, La Spezia and Imperia that are famous for the production of excellent olive oil.
Numerous restaurants and cafes invite tourists to taste perfect Ligurian cuisine and enjoy wonderful wines.
The capital of Liguria is Genoa. The Old Town in Genoa was declared to be the World cultural Heritage by the UNESCO. The world famous La Strade Nuove includes magnificent buildings of the Renaissance and Baroque. In 2006 they also were included in the World Cultural Heritage by the UNESCO.
